Explore Québec’s attractiveness platform

Nantes and Montréal share common values around the innovative and inclusive city, urban development through experimentation, and the strong ties between Nantes’ Creative District and Montréal’s Quartier des Spectacles,

Both cities place a high value on creativity, gender equality, diversity, social justice, sustainability, smart city development, urban nature, and a shared spirit of boldness and innovation.

Collaborations in digital technology…

A global leader in artificial intelligence, Montréal attracts researchers and cutting-edge digital businesses from all over the world.

In 2019, Nantes and Montréal signed a data charter for public authorities, addressing the evolution and application of ethical frameworks, and exploring the development of an ethical label for data usage in smart cities.

Like Montréal, Nantes is a digital frontrunner and the top French city for digital job creation.

…And in cultural & creative industries

These synergies have sparked unique collaborative opportunities:

  • Partnership agreement between Le Quartier des Spectacles (Montréal) and SAMOA (Nantes)
  • Strengthened ties between Zù incubator (Montréal), SAMOA, and L’École de Design to support creative entrepreneurs using tech to revolutionize entertainment
