Doctolib launches into artificial intelligence with the CHU de Nantes
The objective: to design clinical decision-support tools for doctors and new services for patients. Artificial intelligence could notably help prepare a consultation, better understand a diagnosis, or even follow a treatment. In the long term, it could also help predict the risk of certain diseases occurring.
A collective and international project…
This project brings together several leading institutions in health and digital technology, including Inserm, Inria, and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. Research teams will be based in Paris, Nantes, and Berlin, with the ambition of developing AI solutions specifically dedicated to medical practice.
Unlike general AI assistants, these tools will be trained on validated and local medical knowledge to ensure a high level of reliability and safety. As explained by Stanislas Niox-Chateau, president and co-founder of Doctolib, answers will only be provided when the level of confidence is considered sufficient.
…confirming the excellence of the CHU de Nantes
The CHU de Nantes will play a key role in certain projects, particularly in defining rules for evaluating urgency in the care of children. The research results will be published in order to foster innovation in healthcare in Europe.
A journey initiated in 2020 in Nantes
Supported by Nantes Saint-Nazaire Développement during its establishment in 2020, Doctolib chose in September 2025 to settle permanently in Nantes with the inauguration of its new headquarters on the Île de Nantes. Already a partner of many institutions and more than 400,000 healthcare professionals, Doctolib thus confirms the anchoring of its health innovation ecosystem in Nantes, a territory where the company continues to grow alongside hospital and research stakeholders.
